Matsuei is a traditional, old-fashioned sushi house serving an excellent variety of fresh fish, sushi rolls and Japanese favorites like Miso Soup. They have a nice outdoor terrace which is perfect for early evening beers and sushi. Matsuei also sometimes offers an “Open Sushi”, whereby you pay a certain amount, usually $21.00 per head, and you can eat as much nigiri (sushi) and sushi rolls as you like. Naturally, the menu is limited for “Open Sushi”, but many top items are included, you can order up to five times, so you avoid having to order everything as soon as you get there and the only condition is that you eat everything you order… any items you leave on your plate will be charged for additionally. |
Matsuei is well established and has a wide range of Japanese dishes
The quality is good but not superb.
The best place to eat real Japanese food in Panama. Not only about rolls, but real sushi, sashimi and traditional Japanese dishes.
I love their hot sukiyaki and fried tempura. Definitely a must try when you dine in to this Japanese restaurant.
