Restaurant Description

Lima Limon is a delightful restaurant that opened in Panama toward the end of 2009.  The well-executed menu (designed by owner Cesar Podestá, formerly of La Folie) is Peruvian and contains many of the delicacies you would typically find in other Peruvian restuarants, including an excellent selection of ceviches, causas, chupe de camarones, tacu tacu and much more.

Unlike all other Peruvian restaurants in Panama, however, Lima Limon offers a modern, cosmopolitan atmosphere in which you can relax, enjoy an amazing selection of martinis, cocktails and wines.  If you don’t feel like eating, Lima Limon is the perfect place to just kick back and relax with your friends.

It is indeed this relaxed atmosphere that promises to set Lima Limon apart from the competition.  The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated, stylishly following the lemon and lime color scheme of the restaurant.  The outdoor terrace is breezy and the location in the heart of Panama’s nightlife district means this is a great spot for some quality people watching.

Service at Lima Limon is friendly and efficient and many of the staff speak at least some English – a refreshing change for the many tourists and expats in Panama City who don’t speak Spanish.

Lima Limon is also one of the few places in Panama that understands the value of marketing and promotions.  Each Thursday is $3 Martini night, which is proving to be quite a hit, Friday is Ladie’s Night (girls drink free!) there are happy hour specials every night and they have a great ‘executive’ lunchtime menu.

I’ve been to Lima Limon a few times now and each time has been as good as the last – the food, the service and the atmosphere.  I’m already looking forward to my next visit… oooh, wait…is it Thursday? Maybe I’ll head on over for a yummy Martini :-P
